ERLAK: The God of Construction and the God of Marble are helping build the place, with some help from the God of Folly. NIZINI: Why does that last one not surprise me? PANEL FIVE: Close on Erlak. ERLAK: The Goddess of Comfort is making the chairs, and the Goddess of Teak most of the rest of the furniture. PANEL SIX: Back view of the two of them. NIZINI: So how did you persuade all these gods to help you? 'm sure they're not all chipping in for free. ERLAK: Well... no, not exactly. They're doing it in return for the promise of a future favor. PANEL SEVEN: Slightly different angle from the back NIZINI: A future favor from the god of soup... ERLAK: Well, actually, from my champion. ERLAK: Well, no, I haven't mentioned it to him yet... but that's how this whole divine champion thing's supposed to work, isn't it? They go on missions for their patron gods...
