Soup the Comic Strip by Alun Clewe
Comic strip for February 22 2024.
PANEL ONE: Tagaidin, god of adventure, stands in front of Erlak at the bar in Erlak's establishment. We see a few other gods sitting at tables in the background. TAGAIDIN: So, Erlak. Looks like you've got a fair few customers trickling in here. ERLAK: Tagaidin! I wasn't expecting to see YOU here. You haven't often come to the Dive Divine. PANEL TWO: Angle on Tagaidin, with Erlak in the foreground. TAGAIDIN: There's little there to attract me. But I heard you were opening a bar of your own, and I thought THIS—THIS may be an adventure! ERLAK: Well, thanks! PANEL THREE: Close on Erlak, with Tagaidin in the foreground. ERLAK: Wait...actually, I'm not completely sure that was a compliment...

Good news! Today's commentary won't be all about my having relettered and uploaded another two weeks' of old strips today!

Bad news! That's because I didn't do that!

I did actually get a few old strips relettered today, but only three, which is substantially short of two weeks' worth. But I'll try to get another two weeks' worth of strips done (well, minus the ones I did today) tomorrow. I only have to do that two more times, and then never again, and it's on to drawing new strips.

So, anyway, what will today's commentary be about? Uhhh... how about those... random background gods that show up in a lot of strips set in the Dive Divine and the Bar of Soup. Some of them I have names for, and a few of them I even have plans for. Most of them I don't. I don't know who those gods are. Who's that guy with the armbands in the background in the first panel? No idea. That three-eyed goddess in the second panel? No clue. They're just some gods, you know?
