Soup the Comic Strip by Alun Clewe
Comic strip for April 16 2024.
PANEL ONE: The champion and Maiz ride Nezhoni across the landscape. CHAMPION: No, I've never been to the Grand Observatory, but of course I've heard about it. PANEL TWO: Front angle. The champion is transparent, indicating that he is in the process of disappearing. CHAMPION: Supposedly it— PANEL THREE: The champion is gone. Maiz looks in bewilderment at the empty saddle. PANEL FOUR: Side angle. Maiz looks down at Nezhoni. MAIZ: Cool! He disappeared! NEZHONI: It'll be even “cooler” if he doesn't REappear. PANEL FIVE: Nezhoni keeps walking. MAIZ: Can I sit in the saddle now? NEZHONI: Sure. Then it'll be interesting to see what happens if he DOES reappear.

As anticipated, after a long day at work yesterday I didn't manage to finally finish the backgrounds of that December 16 strip (or make any headway on new strips). Today, on the other hand, is the California state science fair, or the California Science & Engineering Fair, to give it its proper title, at which I've served as a judge for the last I'm not sure how many years. This means I won't be working tomorrow (I was going to be back on the same set as yesterday and Sunday, but due to the science fair I said I was unavailable to work that day). It does mean I'll be busy with the science fair, but not as busy; judging at the science fair should only take five hours or so, and I have the rest of the day pretty much free. So maybe today I'll manage to make some progress on those things. Maybe.
