Tomorrow is 24 Hour Comics Day, a day in which participants have 24 hours to complete a 24-page comic. I've participated in 24 Hour Comics Day every day since 2006—you can see my past comics up at the site d24comic.com (along with other comics done during a somewhat short-lived attempt to do a 24-hour comic every 24 days. It did not go well, but I'm still considering trying it again.) Unfortunately, last year was my first year drawing the comic at home; every year previously I'd been at events hosted by local comic book stores. (Yes, including during the pandemic, sort of; long story.) Last year, however, there were no local comic book stores hosting the event; in fact, there were no locations physically hosting the event west of the Mississippi (I'm in Los Angeles). I drew my comic while on a Zoom meeting hosted by 7000 B.C., a store in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but that's not the same as physically being there.
And, alas, the same looks to be true this year. 7000 B.C. is hosting the event in person (not at their store, but at the local library), but Albuquerque is still not exactly close to Los Angeles. I'm thinking of trying to go there anyway, but... eh, we'll see. I am doing 24-Hour Comics Day again this year; like I said, I haven't missed a year since 2006, and I don't want this one to be the first year I do. But I'm not entirely sure right now where I'm going to do it, exactly...
