PANEL ONE: Erlak's champion sits at a table across from Trevalien. CHAMPION: Look, I'm sorry, but I don't really think I'm in a position to look after a child. TREVALIEN: Well, perhaps I can change your mind... PANEL TWO: Overhead view of Trevalien and the champion TREVALIEN: I happen to have discovered some details recently about a certain event seven years ago... details about what a certain young woman was doing in the Cave of Faults... details I think a certain Baron Hachtaan would be _very_ interested in. PANEL THREE: Back to a side view. CHAMPION: _This is extortion!_ TREVALIEN: No, no, it's _blackmail_. Get your epithets right.

Okay, I have a confession here. While I do have a lot of elements of the future plot of Soup planned out; I know secrets about several characters that are yet to be revealed... I don't actually have a firm idea of the event Trevalien is referring to here. I have sort of some vague notions, but I haven't really decided on the details, or if and when the matter will be explored further.

Nevertheless, at some future point it will have to be explored further, and I am going to have to decide on the details, because the event Trevalien alludes to is a Chekhovian gun placed upon the figurative mantle, and so at some point it's going to have to go off...

Oh, on another note, as I've been saying I'd do for the last several weeks, I did finally start drawing a new strip. (Which will, if all goes according to plan, go up on June 3, 2024.) I didn't finish drawing it. I'm very rusty drawing this characters. But I started, and I suppose that's at least something.
